President’s Volunteer Service Awards

Blessed Sacrament Catholic School is honored to accept the commitment, determination, and strength offered by our community and its volunteers. Our school could not exist without their support. We value and appreciate the shared time, talents, and resources of each one. Volunteerism is foundational to the success and health of our school community, as well as a witness to our beliefs and faith in action.

Our families are asked to donate 24 hours of volunteer service to the school annually. The combined efforts of every family at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School working to satisfy this request yield something amazing. During the 2017-2018 school year, our parents logged over 12,000 hours of volunteer time. At $12.50 an hour, that translates into $150,000 in man hours! The value of those hours results in an enormous cost reduction over the course of the school year, increases the school’s ability to offer programs to its students, and ensures the highest quality education and student life experience. We are proud of our community and it’s fortitude. Thank you for your generosity!

The President’s Volunteer Service Award bestows the highest level of honor upon those who dedicate themselves to volunteerism and the value of personal commitment to grow and improve communities everywhere.

While it is true that small amounts, offered by many, can join together to make great things, it is also true that one person can make a big difference on their own. This is done through hard work and the deepest level of commitment. It is these individuals who are honored, at three levels, by the President’s Volunteer Service Award. These levels are: Gold, requiring 1000+ hours of service within a single year; Silver, requiring 500 to 999 hours of service in a single year; and Bronze, attained with 200 to 499 hours of service in a single year.

Each year, Blessed Sacrament Catholic School, in coordination with the President’s Volunteer Service Award program, proudly names several families as recipients of this distinguished award. These families are a great credit to our school in their dedication to uphold our shared values, as well as the commitment to ensure excellence within an encompassing and compassionate community life
