Mrs. Jean Spicer

Mrs. Spicer has spent many years in the education field. She started out as a school secretary with Granite School District and absolutely loved working with the children. She says she also worked with some of the finest teachers and administrators and learned a lot!

When her own children were grown Mrs. Spicer returned to college to earn a degree in early childhood education. She says her proudest moment was when she graduated from the University of Utah with my middle daughter.  Her daughter graduated in business and she graduated with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies.
Mrs. Spicer has wanted to teach the little ones because they are so unique and fun, they love learning!  God however, had other plans for her- Grandchildren! Her own girls were starting their own careers so she got to tend her 3 granddaughters, which she loved! She remembers it as the best time of her life. When her oldest granddaughter was in the first grade at St Vincent School her teacher asked Mrs. Spicer to be her aide. She accepted and absolutely loved it.
Young children are so eager to learn everything.  And also, recess was very fun because the children always tell you fun stories about what is going on in their lives.
Mrs. Spicer was a teacher’s aide at St. Vincent Catholic School for nine years.  At that time her oldest granddaughter was attending Juan Diego High School and since the drive was far, she applied here at Blessed Sacrament!
The school and community here at Blessed Sacrament are so unique.  Everyone is so caring and loving and I love the children! I feel so blessed to be teaching the Pre-K (4 year old) class.  The children are like my own grandchildren, very special and so eager to learn! Children are the future of our world and I feel so blessed to be a part of helping them to grow and learn.
