Hello Darling Angels!

Here in Ms. Darling’s second grade class students get a kickstart into their higher education while acting out real world examples, learning the importance of pneumonic devices, and cheering on the Utes football team! Ms. Darling has a passion for differentiated instruction making sure each student has “scaffolding” when they need help and the skills they need for their confidence to grow. She believes that each student has so many unique gifts to share and is capable of more than they ever knew, she loves when student’s impress themselves with the work they’ve produced. In her classroom she aims to create an environment where every child feels safe and supported coming to school each day. In second grade, curriculum highlights include:

  • Three-digit addition and subtraction with regrouping
  • Exploring genres of writing and reading
  • Preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Communion

Second Grade Reporting Live!

A special opportunity in second grade are the Saint Reports and Mammal Reports. These are some of student’s first large-scale projects where they research, write, prepare, and ultimately present on a topic. Every year it is incredible to see these students produce six page hand written reports and see the large smiles on their faces when they present to the school. These projects are great for facilitating community between students, family, teachers, and the school!

No family is asked to pay more than they can afford.
