Mrs. Karla Vela
Mrs. Karla Vela was born in Mexico City. Throughout her professional career, she has worked with children between the ages of 4 and 12 in educational programs, developing a deep vocation for teaching and the holistic formation of young learners.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, recognized as equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor of Science in Education from an accredited institution of higher education in the United States. She also completed three years of Biblical Studies, three years of Theology, and three years of Pastoral Studies, and continues her theological formation.
Committed to lifelong learning and the integral development of the human person, Mrs. Vela is currently pursuing a Certificate Program in Spiritual Psychology and a Certificate Program in Ignatian Spiritual Accompaniment. She is also beginning her second bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology. In addition, she completed one year of Business Administration studies and is proficient in the use of computer applications and educational technology.
Mrs. Vela considers it a double blessing from God that her son is part of the Blessed Sacrament community while she also has the privilege of serving as a member of the school’s faculty and staff.
She believes that working with children is both a blessing and a profound responsibility. In her view, every child is a seed filled with God-given potential. By strengthening their values, helping them discover their gifts, and supporting them in their areas of growth, educators contribute to forming compassionate, faith-filled individuals who will help build a better future.
As an inspiration for her educational vocation and ministry of service, Mrs. Vela finds in the words of Jesus the foundation of her mission to accompany, educate, and care for every child with love, respect, and dignity:
“Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)
“Whoever welcomes one of these little children in My name welcomes Me.” (Mark 9:37)
