Religion
The 4th grade religion series is Christ Our Life by the Sisters of Notre Dame. Using the Faith First text, students complete in-depth studies of the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, and the Rosary. Students attend Mass weekly, as well as a Reconciliation service during Advent and Lent.
During Advent, students participate in a class Advent calendar, filled with activities to prepare for the arrival of Jesus on Christmas. Similarly, during Lent, each student completes a Lenten Journal, with activities to have a prayerful Lenten journey in preparation for Holy Week.
Ms. Johnson’s religion class provided many fun things. One of the things that I liked was her pulling number sticks and if that was your number you would read.
I also liked how she would do a “Moment with Jesus”. You would put your head on your desk and close your eyes. This was a moment that would be like no other in the day. Then you would raise your head and “wake” up and do the rest of the lesson.
She did a great job last year helping my spiritual life. I think she’s an amazing teacher.
